Implants

Implants can be used as support for bridges or make an alternative to bridges by filling in the gaps with the crown. They can also replace multiple teeth so that partial dentures and even full dentures can be avoided. Loose and floating dentures can receive extra support from the implants. This can be achieved due to the retention and stability that implants provide.

To see the availability of bone a CBCT can be taken. Nowadays a special stl file of your mouth can be taken with our 3D scanner; like taking a 3D video of the mouth that becomes a virtual model that appears on the computer screen; and merged with the DICOM data from a CBCT to see the availability of bone 3 dimensionally in the exact area of the intended prostheses/restoration.

Implants are becoming more and more popular in dentistry as an option for replacing these missing natural teeth as it gives the patient more options to what they wish to do.

Implants are artificial tooth roots that are inserted into the jawbone to replace missing natural teeth.

Implants; usually made of titanium; become integrated into the bone as an option for replacing these missing natural teeth as it gives the patient more options to what they wish to do. There are many different types of implants and it is important that you receive the correct one for your needs and individual situation according to the density of the bone in that particular region of the mouth, the amount of available bone, the purpose and loading of the intended resulting restoration ( e.g.crown, bridge, over-denture etc). Other considerations include any medical conditions, medication, and proximity of anatomical structures just to mention a few.
